The year 2040 S1E2 (Security)

Security is always key for me. Since I was mugged, this became personal. I started imagining this future, where we will be all secure. A future where mugging, illicit robbery, Dumb and damned theft will be a thing of the past. It’s just the other day that I finished registering a company whose major goal is to bring this into life. A company that will be focused on researching and creating these technologies that I talk about here.
Therefore, you should note that as much as what I talk about here seems so fictional, in my company’s “mind” it’s a clear goal.
So today we are imagining the future of security in general. First, let's look at our current state of our security services. How do you feel while walking around town? How secure do you feel? If someone you do not know approaches you in town? Why is it that you do not trust people you do not know? How long does it take you to be served in a police station? How reliable are these people? I am sure most of you forego the option of reporting to police because to you it’s a waste of time most of the time. I know the police do a good job but my question is, when they say they are looking for a culprit, how do they do it? When you say you are looking for someone who can be located anywhere in the country, where do you go? I mean, you can go to Mombasa while they’re in Nairobi, you might go to Nairobi while they are in Meru? The question am trying to pose here is the question of reliability, how reliable are their methods of investigations, and criminal location?

This video shows atleast what we have achieved on this field. There's still work to be done.

So imagine this, it is 2047 and you are at a Passenger UAV bay waiting for your driverless flying PSV. Then suddenly someone emerges from nowhere and grabs your purse and or internet device (phone/computer). Rather let us put it this way, you are just walking around the town, in the evening. It’s somehow dark and someone decides to take the opportunity and grab your belongings or even just attack you. Its 2047 and Astronet and Phindor are completely functional. There are cameras all over the streets. Somewhere up the skies there are up to ten autonomous aerial security vehicles patrolling the city.
These UAVs see and act. The cameras also see and act. They communicate the information to the police and the security vehicles. The security vehicles also communicate the surveillance information to the police. The camera systems and the UAVs have been trained to recognize unusual violent events, unfamiliar faces, and also can identify and tell apart a law breaker by just analyzing their physical behavior, level of anxiety and faces. In other words these systems have been trained on all possible law breaking events and how the possible offenders behave and or might behave. The machines execute this with a lot of confidence and the security officers are always available to fine tune the machine whenever it makes a wrong prediction. So let’s go back to our small incident, the cameras see the incident and notify the above UAVs, the UAVs collaborate and head towards the scene pf incident. The nearby alarms are triggered to ring. This notifies everyone around that there is something wrong going on. Our culprit decides to take off but it is already too late because our intelligent flying machines have already identified the culprit, linked to the police database and provided the police with all the information about the culprit. The machines sends the police the coordinates of our bad guy’s location and the route of pursuit. The UAVs chase after the bad guy and act as a guidance system for the police. Let me ask you. Where will the bad guy go? Where can he go? We have him/her on ground and on air? We win.

I'd like to note that the UAV presented here is assumed to use a technology that allows it to charge and retain its power for longer periods of time. This involves the UAV being solar-powered, having super-powerful batteries probably based on the new graphene battery technology and also having a service UAV that delivers and changes the UAV batteries every time there’s need.
This is just a glance of what you expect, these systems will be incorporated in our future mart homes like the one we talked about in episode 1 of this series. Our homes will be self-protecting. It’s only that we will always have to rethink our technics because every time we have a new technology, there is always a way of hacking through it. It is for us now to work on finding these itches and provide a solution before the bad guy discovers it.
It’s clear that our AI future will be beautiful but there are flaws that I believe we should detect now as we develop our AI future.
This kind of technology is available in Phindor’s book of plans and goals and it’s very clear possible in there, however challenges such as not having enough data and probably the infant nature of the company deters this technology from being a reality. So help us create the future you want by partnering with us in way you can including data provision.

What do you think?
